IT Support for Care Homes

Care homes run around the clock, with rotating shifts, shared devices and increasingly digital care records. When Wi-Fi drops or a carer cannot log in, it affects residents. Compufix helps care providers keep technology secure, simple and dependable.

The IT challenges we help with

Account security

Shared logins are common and risky. We set up individual accounts with MFA that works for busy carers.

Staff onboarding and leavers

High staff turnover means accounts must be created and removed quickly and consistently.

Reliable connectivity

Digital care systems and call bells depend on Wi-Fi coverage across the whole building, including older wings.

Microsoft 365

Email, Teams and shared files configured so managers and staff can work securely.

Device access

Tablets and shared PCs managed centrally, locked down and recoverable if lost.

Business continuity

Backups and a recovery plan so care records and rotas are available when they are needed.

Questions

Do you hold care-sector accreditations?

We do not claim sector-specific accreditation. We apply sound security practice and can support you in preparing evidence for your own compliance obligations.

Can you help with Wi-Fi in older buildings?

Yes. A site survey identifies where access points are needed for consistent coverage.

Can you help with the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (DSPT)?

We can help you put practical technical controls in place, such as MFA, device updates, backups and access management, and explain them so you can evidence them in your own DSPT submission. Completing and submitting the toolkit remains the provider's responsibility.

How do you handle staff who leave at short notice?

We agree a simple leaver process with your manager so accounts are disabled, devices recovered and shared passwords changed promptly, reducing the risk of former staff accessing resident information.

Do you support care homes outside Chester?

Yes. We support care providers across Cheshire and North Wales on site by arrangement, and remotely across the UK.
