Managed IT & Business Support

IT Support for Small Businesses

Practical, plain-English IT support for small teams that do not have an IT department.

Small businesses have the same IT risks as larger ones but without an IT department. We help owners of businesses with 1 to 15 staff get the basics right: secure accounts, reliable backups, sensible devices and someone to call.

Common problems we help with

  • The owner ends up being the IT person
  • Personal email accounts used for business
  • No backups, or backups nobody has checked
  • Buying the wrong equipment or licences

How Compufix solves it

We focus on the handful of things that matter most for a small team and set them up properly once, then keep them maintained. Our £250 minimum retainer covers up to 5 users on Managed IT Support.

Supporting small businesses across Chester, Cheshire and North Wales

Many of the businesses we support are owner-managed, with a handful of staff and no one whose job is IT. Being a small local business ourselves, we understand that every pound and every hour matters. We focus on the basics that protect you most, such as MFA, backups and updates, before suggesting anything more advanced.

What you get

A sensible starting point

A review of your devices, email, backups and security, with a short prioritised list of what to fix first.

Microsoft 365 set up properly

Business email, Teams and shared files configured with the right licences, so you are not paying for features you do not use.

Essential security

MFA on every account, endpoint protection and update management to stop the most common attacks.

Backups you can rely on

Business files and Microsoft 365 data backed up, with restores tested.

Someone to call

A named local provider who knows your setup, rather than a call centre.

Room to grow

Starter and leaver processes and device standards that still work when you double in size.

Who it is for

Sole traders, partnerships and small teams who want professional IT without enterprise complexity.

Benefits to your business

  • Less downtime and fewer interruptions
  • Predictable monthly IT costs
  • One trusted point of contact
  • Time back to focus on your business

Small Business IT Support FAQs

Is managed IT worth it for a tiny business?

For teams of up to 5, the £250 minimum retainer often costs less than a few emergency call-outs a year, and prevents many of them.

Is managed IT support worth it for a very small business?

Managed IT Support has a £250 monthly minimum, which covers up to 5 users. Very small teams with occasional needs often start on Pay As You Go at £70 per hour and move to managed support as they grow.

We only have three staff. Do we really need cybersecurity?

Yes. Small businesses are frequently targeted because they tend to have weaker defences. A few inexpensive controls, especially MFA and reliable backups, remove most of the risk.

Can you help us choose the right Microsoft 365 plan?

Yes. We review how your team works and recommend licences that fit. Microsoft licences are billed separately at Microsoft's rates.
